Once a month, Gaia Community holds its official 'business meeting', which we call a "Ritual for Business". RfBs, as they are called, are held on the second Saturday of each month in the Jefferson/Franklin rooms downstairs at SMUUCH, from 9:30am until 11:30am or we wrap up the items on the agenda. All of our meetings are conducted according to a formal consensus process, to ensure that everyone's voice is heard. You may attend and voice your opinion at Rituals for Business whether or not you are a member of Gaia Community, although only those Full Active Members present (called the "Committee of the Whole" in our bylaws) may participate in the consensus process. The only major decision that we do not conduct according to consensus during these meetings is our annual election, usually held in April.
The agenda regularly includes such things as:
In order to streamline these meetings, it is strongly suggested that new or complex items for consideration be brought to the community's attention with a full proposal that has been made available in writing before that morning. Agenda items may also be proposed at one RfB and decided upon sometime in the future after refinement and due consideration.
Have something you'd like to bring? Contact a member of our Board of Trustees, either in person by finding someone with the purple ribbon on their nametag, or by emailing them at board@gaiacommunity.org.
