Panel Discussion: Cultural Appropriation and Cultural Sensitivity

Join Gaia Community and Cultural Crossroads in a sponsored panel discussion on cultural appropriation and cross-cultural sensitivity, particularly related to pagan and neopagan worship. If you have questions you wish to submit ahead of time, please send them to gaia@gaiacommunity.org, otherwise there will be time for ad hoc questions during the panel. Gaia Community greatly appreciates the donation by a friend of the community that makes this discussion on such an important topic possible. Our Panelists:
REV. REGINA STILLMAN Spiritual Thought Leader Rev. Regina L. Stillman is a driving force in the religious life of Greater Kansas City. Currently, she is senior pastor and spiritual activist of Restoration To The Second Power, an urban congregation and spiritual awareness center, which she founded in 1991 and is still connected with her father’s congregation of Foster Memorial Church in White Cloud, Kansas. She is a past Protestant Christian director of the Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council, a current member of the Concerned Clergy Coalition of Kansas City and an interfaith minister of the Alliance of Divine Love. Her personal vision and goal is to deconstruct the walls between the sacred and the secular in order to bring people into the consciousness of living life in its fullness.

MARTIN (TOM) ZIEGLER Tom is Lakota Sioux from Lower Brule South Dakota. Tom is deeply involved in following Native American traditions and speaks his native tongue fluently.  He grew up in a catholic boarding school and is well versed in how they “taught” lessons. Tom has a great sense of humor and a plethora of information to share with you.

REV. MARY GIBSON MCCOY Rev. Mary’s passion in life is to bring people together in love, knowledge, community and Spirit.  She was ordained in 2006 through the Alliance of Divine Love, an international, interfaith ministry, and follows an Earthwalking Path in the service of Evolving Spirituality. She is a director of the Greater KC Interfaith Council and an officer with the Heartland Chapter of the Alliance of Divine Love. She founded Cultural Crossroads in 2001 to promote the commonalities among peoples and to educate the community on cross-cultural issues.
