Workshop: Final Rites
November 7, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
“Personally, I have attended many cringe-worthy funerals and memorial services, as well as many that have been moving, deeply personal, and that provide a sense of closure and respect for the life of the departed individual. If we want our friends and closest family to be served well after we are gone, we are wise to leave instructions that help people plan what to do. And in contrast, during this past COVID time, how many loved ones have we lost where there was no gathering to mourn, no formal rite at all, leaving an awkward sense of things left undone?” – Barbara, workshop organizer
This will be a workshop on leaving instructions for loved ones about how you wish to be memorialized after death. While it will follow up on the information on other types of end of life planning, it will be a stand-alone workshop with opportunities to make notes on your own preferences while you are still able to articulate them. You will need only something to serve as a chalice, and writing materials to participate.
